It’s no big secret that playtime has decreased in recent year and it undoubtedly tedious at times. However, it’s important to prioritize it. There are many proven research which highlights the benefits of playtime for the children at schools etc. However, when you add parent-child playtime to the mix, there are even more reasons to play.
Here are some of the proven benefits:
PLAY INCREASES THE PARENT AND CHILD HAPPINESS
I am sure that you heard this before: “Children explore and learn about the world through play.”
Indeed, play is a lot of fun and it also provides learning opportunities for the kids. They develop safety precautions along with many other important life lessons.
From the moment, your child was born, you were bonding with them. You bonded through; eye contact, feeding, rocking, story telling, and singing. To continue this bonding as they get older, you have to play.
Play builds trust:
When engaging in Parent-child playtime, ensure that there is no distractions as this helps build a trusting relationship and you will get to better understand your child.
There is different type of undying love that occurs when you shut out the rest of the world and simply spend time together. It is start for a trusting and open relationship with truthful communication.
Remember: Kids often communicate feelings through play that they struggle to communicate in conversation. They feel safe and secure when playing, and that helps them verbalize the emotions that they might otherwise internalize.
KEEPING YOUR CHILD HAPPY CAN BE EASY AS HEALTHY SNACKS.
Kids love to snack and eating between meals is important to a their growth and nutrition as they are growing and developing rapidly.
If your child gets too hungry they may become cranky or find it difficult to concentrate on different task. However, healthy snacks help to satisfy hunger between meals and boost energy. This also helps in keeping your child happy.
This means that each bite contributes to the child’s intake of nutrients.
Keep them happy with treats throughout the day while promoting a healthy lifestyle with some of the below snacks:
Granola bars
Trail mix
Crackers and cheese
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole-grain bread
Animal, graham or whole grain crackers, plain or with peanut butter
